Feedback provided to tutee: During this session we focused on practicing for her upcoming oral exam. She told me the rules she would need to follow and I helped her practice delivering timed responses. I corrected her basic and repetitive errors, gave her some strategies for how to best use her 30 planning time, and wished her luck at the end of the session.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned:
I generally prefer intrinsic motivation boosting activities, especially during tutoring, but today I realized that sometimes a student just needs to practice. practice, practice. Drilling is almost never fun, but it can be effective and even necessary during crunch time.
