Topic/Skill: Complex connectors and conditional statements
Feedback provided to tutee: During this session, I helped him better understand the material he was having trouble with in class (complex connectors and conditional statements). We sat down and went through every complex connector listed in his book, discussing when to use them and how, and coming up with example sentences for each. Then, we talked about the three types of conditional statement and when/how to use each. It was mostly just an in depth review day.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned:
This session taught me that it can be very beneficial for students to have the ability to go over every question they have one-on-one with a tutor. It was also a very beneficial session for me personally, as it forced me to fully consider when each form of complex connector can be used, and I didn't even KNOW that there were three types of conditional statement! I learned a lot and hopefully he did too! I'm also very thankful that he told me what he wanted to discuss beforehand, so I could properly prepare.
