Lesson (s) I learnt about tutoring and my tutee: We continue working on the new "Greetings" vocabulary: we learn and practice opening phrases for everyday dialogues. Feng really enjoys being able to communicate more with native speakers now that he knows more informal ways to talk. He loves idioms (as do I:). We also learn about American Culture with the book "English USA Every Day/ A fun ESL guide to American culture and language" by Dr. Gilda Martinez-Alba. We are currently studying chapter #2 "Shopping For Food". This chapter is about grocery shopping, different types of food stores, food categories etc. The chapter has sample dialogues for Feng to read and new vocabulary to memorize. It also has practice exercises. Feng enjoys studying through this book.
