Topic/Skill: Composition, Group 3A
Worked on the first draft of a writing assignment. Focused on the content and not the grammar.

Teacher Presentation: The teacher used 20 minutes by the board to go over some evaluation of one students composition. She used the projector as visual aid in her explanation. This composition class was taught in what I thought was a very traditional and school-like manner. Not any creative exercises but the students were still in focus as she gave individual feedback to every student. Her speech was loud and clear but fast-paced.

Classroom Management She has a very authoritative presence while still being friendly towards the students.  She walked around the classroom and talked individually to every student.

Student Participation: It was a morning class with a lot of individual in-class work so it wasn't very interactive in that sense.

Feedback Provided: This class was very focused on providing the students with feedback. The teacher was praising the students as well as providing the with constructive criticism. She would also focus a lot on challenging the students ("You need to use more difficult vocabulary because I know you're capable of doing so"). She also used student self-assessment. This way she would force them to focus on their weaknesses and they would be critical of their own work.

Lesson(s) on teaching you learned: She took the time to go around to every student and give individual and precise feedback. I feel like this is a very important part of teaching. I also liked how she was very set on making the students challenge themselves. She would rather they write a challenging sentence with mistakes and learn something, than writing an easy simple and flawless sentence.
