Topic/Skill: Relative pronouns to connect his clauses/phrases

Feedback provided to tutee: At our last tutoring session I told him that a main issue with his writing/grammar is that he has a lot of phrases and clauses that aren't correctly put together. They lacked relative pronouns. I told him that either we needed to fix this by using more periods and create more sentences that were shorter, or we would need to use relative pronouns. He wanted to be able to form more complex sentences så I brought relative pronouns activities for this sessions.

I made sure to explain the differences between the most used relative pronouns so he could identify when to use 'who' and 'which' for example.

When we were doing the exercises and he made a mistake, instead of saying that it was a mistake, I would ask him to explain why this was his answer. This way he was aware of that there was actually a mistake because he had difficulties explaining it.

I offered a lot of praise during this exercise and asked him to create his own written sentences with the use of relative pronouns. Here I focused on the relative pronoun first and afterwards some of the other grammar.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned:

This session I noticed a common grammar mistake in his speech. He often doesn't use an article when saying nouns. This is something I would like to do some activities with him so he can focus on it.
