Topic/Skill: Speaking, Group 4A
Class discussion/group discussion

Teacher Presentation: Teacher presents the exercise at hand but from then on almost doesn't interfere during the exercise. When the teacher went on to the next exercise she used the deductive method: explained first, practice with the students later

Classroom Management:  The students are at a very high proficiency level and can therefore control the classroom on their own. There was little to no teacher interference which I found very impressive.

Student Participation: The students were very talkative and seemed to be genuinely interested in the topic they were discussing (health care). Every student participated in the discussion.

Feedback Provided: The teacher was silently taking notes during the whole class. Only at the very end of the class did she write down some of the mistakes she'd heard and the class would correct the sentences together.

Lesson(s) on teaching you learned: I was very impressed with how little the teacher interfered. The students could easily keep a good discussion going without any help from the teacher. I think this was also possible because the students were discussing something they actually had an opinion about.
