I really enjoy having Yun Jung as my conversation partner. During conversation, we discovered we each have a lot of interest about each other’s home countries, so we never lacked anything to talk about. We started by talking about education culture in America versus South Korea, as well as job prospects and work culture. The conversation was very entertaining, and I’m happy Yun Jung is very fluent (although she lacks some confidence) so I only needed to directly correct her grammar once or twice. It felt more like a talk with a friend than an assignment, which is how I hope to approach much of my teaching in the future, whenever possible.
