I met with Yun Jung on Tuesday at 2 PM in the CIES building. We discussed different ways to meet new people in the United States. We talked about meeting people at church as part of a bible study, or perhaps making friends with Yun Jung's daughter's mothers. Yun Jung's husband is a grad student in the public administration, so I suggested that she try to meet some of his classmates through a networking event that the program may hold. We also discussed how certain aspects of Korean culture are popular in the United States. Elements like k-pop and and Korean barbecue are rather trendy these days. These two topics could be something to talk to other people about. Hopefully she meets new people!
